TaxNoticePilot Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of TaxNoticePilot, including notice analysis, response kits, and professional tools. They explain your responsibilities, the limits of our service, and how disputes are handled.

Last updated: May 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and TaxNoticePilot (“TaxNoticePilot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, uploading a notice, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. What the Service Does

TaxNoticePilot helps taxpayers and tax professionals analyze IRS and state tax notices. The Service extracts structured facts from uploaded documents, classifies the notice, surfaces deadlines when present, generates a transparent risk score, and produces a plain- English summary and recommended next steps. Higher-tier products add expanded response materials and firm-oriented workflow tools.

3. Not Legal or Tax Advice

TaxNoticePilot is a software product. We are not a law firm, CPA firm, or enrolled agent practice, and using the Service does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, or fiduciary relationship. All output — including classifications, risk scores, deadlines, and recommended next steps — is informational and is intended to help you understand a notice and decide whether to act or seek professional help. Always confirm important facts and deadlines on the original notice and consult a qualified tax professional for advice tailored to your situation.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must promptly notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You may not share your account or use the Service on behalf of someone else without proper authority.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that you do not have the right to share, or that contains malware, exploits, or other harmful code.
  • Use the Service to harass, defraud, or impersonate others, or to violate any applicable law.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent the security or rate limits of the Service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service except under a written agreement with us.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the notices, documents, and case data you upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you and to improve accuracy and reliability of notice extraction, classification, and risk scoring in aggregate, de- identified form.

7. Plans, Payments, and Refunds

Paid plans — including Notice Review, the DIY Response Kit, and TaxNoticePilot Pro — are billed through our payment processor at the prices shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. One-time purchases are non-refundable once the analysis or response kit has been generated, except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout.

8. Service Availability

We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free output, or compatibility with every notice format. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. When extracted facts are incomplete or uncertain, the Service is designed to flag the uncertainty rather than fabricate detail.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party providers for hosting, payments, email, OCR, and AI-assisted extraction. Your use of those features is also subject to the providers’ terms. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or content of third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will identify every notice type, deadline, or risk, or that the output will be free of error.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxNoticePilot and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TaxNoticePilot from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if continued access creates a legal, security, or operational risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which TaxNoticePilot is principally located, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
